World Exports of Home Textiles

World trade data for the first quarter of 2024, available in the World Trade Datamart, highlight - after five quarters of year-over-year declines in euro values - a strengthening of global sales of Home Textiles1: +11.5% q-o-q in seasonally adjusted values in euros (see the graph below); +6.1% at constant prices compared to the corresponding period 2023.

In the first quarter of the year, global sales of Home Textiles, although penalized by the declines in the markets of Germany and France, found support from the US market (+57.6 million euros compared to the corresponding period in 2023).

The US market is therefore confirmed as being by far the main destination for global sales of Home Textiles (with almost 12 billion euros in 2023)2, driving global demand for the sector.

Conclusions

The data for the first quarter of 2024 highlighted a strengthening of the international context of the Home Textiles sector.
In particular, given the weak dynamics of the traditional European markets (France and Germany above all), the US market shows the greatest absolute increases both for global sales in the sector.

The analysis of quarterly imports of the American states, which can be broken down by partner country, can allow us to document the territories of the US market that are offering positive contributions to the growth of global sales of Home Textiles.
